Ken Claar / Owner
Ken grew up in a family of roofers; Claar Roofing, in Hollidaysburg, PA. After moving to Lancaster, PA, in 1993, Ken followed in his Grandfather’s and Father’s footsteps and stayed in the roofing business.
Ken purchased Nicholas Evanoff Company in 2014 because of superior product line, Firestone Certification, and commitment to customer service. “This three generation company has such a strong reputation and an excellent leadership staff, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I am thrilled with the opportunity to work with these outstanding people and their devoted customers.”
Ken resides with his family in Lititz, PA.
Garry Taylor / Sheet Metal Shop Foreman
Garry is part of the Nicholas Evanoff Company heritage, joining his Dad and Uncle with the family business in 1972. From a laborer in the field, to the shingle crew, the hot tar crew, rubber roofing department, and now to the sheet metal shop, Garry knows Nicholas Evanoff Company inside and out. Garry said, “I started with Nicholas Evanoff Company right after the Agnes Flood in ’72 and I’ve been coming every workday since. I don’t even have to tell my truck which way to go, it just knows the way.”
Originally from London, England, Garry was raised in Harrisburg. He resides with his wife in Harrisburg.
Ken Long / Estimator and Project Manager
Ken has been estimating roofing projects in the Harrisburg area for over 30 years. He worked for several roofing companies in many capacities including leading the roofing division for a building contractor. He came to Nicholas Evanoff Company in 2005 to handle estimating, project management, and finding solutions for his customers.
Ken earned his Bachelors of Administration in Accounting from Elizabethtown College. A Vietnam Veteran, he served in the army for three years. He and his wife, who have 1 daughter and 4 grandchildren, reside in Harrisburg.
Steve Grove / Estimator/Project Manager
Steve joined the Evanoff team in fall of 2016. He has thirty plus years in the construction industry. The last nineteen years have been in commercial roofing. Steve’s primary role is as an Estimator/Project Manager.
He’s a graduate of Antonelli Institute of Art & Photography. He holds a degree in Design Technology.
Steve is a native of Central PA, married, and has three daughters. In his spare time, he is a PIAA wrestling official and working on the restoration of 1929 Ford Model A.
Jerry Rush / Sheet Metal Superintendent
Jerry has over 20 years in the Sheet Metal Industy, beginning right after high school as a sheet metal apprentice and working at a variety of local companies. He coordinates all sheet metal jobs, including project managing and scheduling. He joined Nicholas Evanoff Company in 2008, and brought with him his skill for metal composite wall panels and mechanical louvers, adding them to Nicholas Evanoff Company’s roofing product offerings. Jerry overseas sheet metal roofing, mechanical louvers, and metal composite wall panel divisions.
He and his wife reside in Perry County with their 2 sons and 1 daughter.
